More About Qigong, Tai Chi & Tai Ji Quan

Emei Qigong assists in providing awareness to your energy, or Qi, and center. Qigong also practices sound and language to bring forth a sense of inner balance within your life. This helps to assist in teaching and bringing awareness to your own Qi, balance and breath, allowing you to experience feeling grounded securely.

Qigong has been in practice for many years and has demonstrated the ability to bring awareness to one's self and also a strong ability to improve bodily functions. Qigong is a fantastic way to relax your body and mind. Both Qigong and Tai Chi work together, meshing breathing, meditation and movement. These natural movement methods have been proven to assist the body with decreasing pain, improving overall mobility, hand-eye coordination, balance and strength, comforting the body and allowing control of the Qi, or energy. 

Tai Chi gently focuses on circular movements that are relaxed and slow in tempo. Concentrated breathing is deep and slow, relaxing the body and allowing the Qi to flow throughout the body. The practice of ongoing Tai Chi and Qigong can create total harmony of inner and outer self from the integration of the mind and body. Anyone can learn Tai Chi and it can be practiced anywhere. The degree of exertion can be adjusted to suit all levels of ability with Tai Chi and Qigong.

Tai Chi as well as Qigong are both ancient methods of mind-body exercise. Focus points with both exercise forms have involved the combination of breathing, forms of meditation, blends of slow meditative movements and mental focus. Tai Chi and Qigong have shown positive results in helping to restore health and promote wellness. These exercises combine gentle movements with focused postures.

Many of our classes combine different components of Qigong, Tai Chi, Tai Ji Quan, and meditation practices within them with gentle guided instructional movements that are easy to learn and effective.
